Glucophage dosageFrom: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 19 Oct 2002 12:47:26 -0500 (CDT)
I started Glucophage 500 mg 1 to 2 months ago, and I have since increased to 1000mg daily. I have heard that the typical therapeutic dosage for PCOS is 1500mg. My doctor is not sure that he wants me increased to that dosage. I really want to be on the dosage that helps me the most. To elaborate, my main concern is preserving my fertility because I am 31 and have not started having children yet. I only have one ovary due to the other having been removed because of a benign ovarian tumor that kept growing back. What has everyone's experience been with the appropriate dosage of Glucophage for them??? Also, at first I had a decrease in appetite on the medicine, but now I feel very hungry. Has anyone else had this experience? Or could my new birth control, Yasmin, be causing the appetite change? Please respond!! THANK YOU. -Jennifer
