You can always do it to get used to the practice... but I don't know that it's going to show you anything. Your hormone levels are pretty steady on BCPs, so I don't think you'd see much in the way of fluctuating temps, meaning you wouldn't get much experience interpreting charts... just making them. Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? I think it explains things really well... you'll get a good idea of how things go even without actually being able to do the charting yourself.

If you are getting married in a few weeks, how much practice would you really be getting, charting on the birth control pills? Or do you not mean you want to start having children (or trying to) as soon as you are married?

I would think that if you are not ready to have children, but want a dry run at charting for real, try charting and using condoms. (Yes I know it's a pain in the butt... but I think it would be a better way to see how it really goes.)

One other consideration though... I bring this up only because it's close to the front of my mind... a lot of times, women with PCOS are most fertile right after stopping the pill. Then a few months go by and everything goes haywire again. You might not want to stop the pill too long before trying to have kids anyway for this reason. (Of course, this is a gamble, since you really never know exactly WHAT your body is going to do when you go off the pill...)

good luck...
