Re: Depo-provera?From: Sheleigh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 26 Sep 2002 12:12:01 -0500 (CDT)
Pat, I definitely agree that BCP's aren't the best route for treatment. Especially if you have elevated Estrogen levels to begin with! A month before I was diagnosed (I had already done my research and knew I had it) I started modifying my diet to eliminate processed foods, inorganic meats, and pasta, as well as excercising 5 times a week (which I've already been doing for the past 5 years) It wasn't until I got on Met that my weight has started coming off. My cycle is now 29.5 days, and regular. My doctor prescribed me 500 mg Met to take at increased intervals (500 1st week, 1000 2nd week, 1500 3rd week, 2000 4th week) 2000 seemed a bit high to me, and since I've been having success with 1500 I haven't gone up. Is 2000 high? Do you know anything about how long it takes your hormones to return to normal after stopping BCP's? The reason I ask is that BCP's made my chest expand 4 inches, and it still hasn't reduced although I'm losing weight elsewhere.... Thanks in advance! Sheleigh Holmes
