I've not noticed any side effects with the Actos but then I've not taken anymore than that. Hairloss seems to be about the same. I was on the lookout for edema/water retention because Actos is similar to Avandia and on Avandia last year I had horrible constant water retention in my lower legs, gained weight and was horribly sick every month. I don't have any anaswer for you on the situation, but from experience I would suggest ruling out other causes first if you haven't already. It took me a long time and a few years of variations to finally get to where I am, but that doesn't mean it will always be the right combination.
