I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have been prescribed metformin. The Endocrinologist started me off on 1500mg daily, this made me sick, constantly dry reaching, chronic fatigue and nausea. I couldn't work, study, all I wanted to do was sleep, I even slept for 17 hours one day, DISGUSTING!. I contacted the endocrinologist and she decreased it to 500mg per day (in the evening), I felt heaps better and was my normal happy go lucky self. I have been seeing a dietician, have been low carbing and keeping away from fats. I tried to increase the metmorfin to 1000mg per day, was sick again, knocked it back to half a tablet in the morning and a whole one at night, still feel sick. It has been nearly four weeks and I can't seem to get past the one tablet per day without feeling sick and out of the land of the living. What can I do, I have read alot about PCOS and have abided by the diet, what more can I do. Are there any people who have not been able to take metmofin at all due to the side effects and do I have any other options??? >
