Agreed. Look at where most docs get training: hospitals. If they spend a lot of time in hospitals, they probably don't see us. (However, I know some of the hospitals are starting to change that somewhat, to do more time in doctors offices.) In America, one of the required clerkships in the last 2 years of medical school is gyn. No time in endocrinology. That's another problem right there.

I just hope one of the leading research councils ring-fences some funding for PCOS research soon (given that it can affect up to 10% of the female population). I am not sure it is a question of persuading doctors about patients views on treatment etc but the funding bodies who are often populated by academic and expert panels who are not at the front-line (i.e. not actively treating patients).
