Estrogen pills in shampoo

I have been on Glucophage for just over a year now and I am having regular periods for the first time in my life. I told my endo that the only gripe I have right now with my PCOS is that my hair is still falling out and is very thin. I thought since I am regular I was leveling out and this would change but it's not.

She said my testosterone is still too high so she gave me estrogen pills to crush into powder and put into my shampoo. Specifically, 10, 1.5mg tabs for every 8 ozs of shampoo. In theory this counteracts the testosterone.

Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone had success with this method? The idea is new to me. Thanks.
