I swiched from Metformin for exactly the same reasons. I gained 5 kgs due to the fact that I stopped smoking, had fertility treatment and started on Actos, 15 mg. ain the beginning I was suffering from edema. But now I have lost 4 of the 5 kgs and I feel so much better. Besides the kgs that I have got tend to be placed in better places than before (not the stomach and the face). I really think that it is worth a try. If your start gaining weight you may simply stop the treatment.
