Does this doc's advice sound right?

Hello,

I wonder if somebody might tell me if my doc is on the right track. I don't feel confident with the treatment so far, but maybe I am being too picky.

I'm 29 and I am simly trying to regulate my cycles at this point. My husband has a really low sperm count, so I don't want to bother with fertility meds right now, but would like to keep ttc despite the low count - possibly will try more aggressive means later, but for now I would like to just try to ovulate and regulate hormone levels without birth control pills.

I am not overweight and I just had a gtt, but will not get the results for a few more days. In the meantime, my doc told me my other hormone levels were normal (Prolactin 15, Progesterone .9, LH 9.2, FSH 7.6) All of these were taken on day 8 of a never ending menstrual cycle that I am now on day 43 of. My bbt makes me look like I'm pregnant, but I'm not - according to urine test and ultrasound.

Previously, I had good results regulating my cycle with acupunture and herbs for three months - I had a cycle of 33 days in length... however, I started getting really overheated and I switched the herb to shakyuyakukanzoto (licorice and peony root)- which is recommended for pcos patients because it can reduce testerone levels.

However, my doc never bothered to check my testerone levels (despite the fact that I have excess facial hair and cystic acne on my back) and the big problem is that my menstrual cycle is again very long and my breasts have become very swollen and painful. My doctor told me just to wait another 2 weeks and to take pain killers and buy a new bra! Is this a good idea? I really don't feel comfortable with this.

Can anybody advise? Should I try something else? Wait two weeks as she says?

Thanks for any advice.
