Fasting Insulin

Last week I got my fasting insulin number from my IGTT over the phone. The nurse said my fasting insulin was 4. I find this VERY hard to believe....I don't understand? I have every symptom of hyperinsulinanemia. Has anyone ever shown a result of fasting insulin to be soooo low and still get glucophage? The nurse said there was a ratio that had to be figured by the RE....does anyone know how ratios are figured or what they could mean. I didn't write down my glucose numbers....I recall them being in 80's and 90's.

Thanks in advance, Sarah K.
