Hi Claire,

I just read your post and felt compelled to reply as well. I am 29 years old and was just diagnosed with PCOS two weeks ago. Two days ago I was told that I also have glucose intollerance. This morning I was at the hospital taking blood tests to determine whether or not my kidneys and liver are ok enough to begin medication treatment. Even though I'm 29 and a mother myself (a miracle 3 year old son conceived after a laparoscopy ) I was terrified with all of this news - no one wants anything wrong with their bodies - or talk of medications or "possible" weight increase! ( I've gained 60 pounds in the last year and a half - I don't want more!) I can sympathize with you about your worries and fears. It is important to remember that you are so young and that you have a wealth of information available through the internet. I have benefitted so far from a low-carb diet in just two weeks! I already am feeling better gradually - knowing now that there's a reason for all of the problems that I have suffered for many years. Most importantly - it helps to know that there are people out there just like you and who care about what you're going through. Best of luck with your treatment. Has your glucose been checked? Not your blood sugar - but glucose... my blood sugar was checked numerous times by other doctors and only when my husband and I began seeing a specialist to have another child did I first have glucose done.
