Re: Newly diagnosedFrom: Pat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Jul 2002 14:18:51 -0500 (CDT)
Yes, this is possible, though I would also be suspicious of perimenopause and even fibroids with the irregular bleeding. It is possible you have been working towards this for awhile, and now it is more obvious...or your providers are getting better at recognition. Manay women have been mis-diagnosed or under-diagnosed. It also sounds to me like you have Syndrome X, which is the bloos pressure and high cholesterol. So, probablyl you are insulin resistant with Syndrome X, with maybe some underlying PCOS. Get all the tests you can. I hightly recommend you do lots of research on all of these conditions. Initially you can start changing how you eat, and exercising regularly, waiting for the next step for what to do next. This chart might make things clearere to you: http://home.attbi.com/~cnmpat/bloodsugarstages.htm Here is more info about all of these conditons: http://home.attbi.com/~cnmpat/nutrition.htm
