I have been eating the generic version(no brand name as far as i know), metformin for almost 6 months now, i am on 850x3, i couldnt tell any difference when i switched to it.. no change in symptoms, and no extra weight loss/gain.. everythign went on the way it did before when i was on glucophage.. i dont think there is any difference at all, well if it will make you feel any better, it was when i started the 850 that i got pregnant.. i know it is silly for me to attribute it to that , but just to prove that this works as well as the glucophage brand:) See if you have changed any diet or exercise habits , something else that is contributing to the weight gain, or maybe you need to go to a higher dosage.
