I have been taking 1000mg/per day of met for 2 years with no adverse reactions, recently had my doses increased to 1700/day 3weeks ago. Also taking increased doses of folic acid. Noticed greater hair loss in the few weeks I have been taking the increased dose. In the book "Living with PCOS", says some have noticed hair loss with metformin. But can't find any studies/proof/info on this. Does anyone have a similar experience, does it subside if I continue? Or should I go back to original dosage?
