Hello Dr. Sam,

Sorry Dr. Sam but disagreeing but for the women it is still their baby. Medical terms could be anything but it is still my child who lived within me for nearly 3 months.

Yes, but this is news to me that it is the tissues that are sent to the lab.

If the common cause of m/c is chromosomal, where does PCOS fit in? I thought PCOs caused high insulin resistance etc. that caused m/c.

>PCOS is a common cause of m/c. PCOSers have 3-5 times the risk of m/c compared to regular couples.
>If a D&C is done, not the "baby" is sent for examinations but the tissue cleared from your uterus. This is a histological examination and rarely reveals anyting as of the cause if m/c.
>There is no "baby" at 7w. It is called an embryo, later it becomes fetus (after w12.)
>The most common cause of m/c is genetic, i.e. chromosomal irregularity of the embryo.
