Re: Another miscarraige - pls advice(long)From: Sally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Jul 2002 01:18:37 -0500 (CDT)
Dear Benny, Please don't blame yourself. These things do happen, regardless of how painful. And no-one really has answers, but we can give maybe a little support. The good thing is that you already managed to conceive twice. So your chances are good of conceiving again. Some ideas for future consideration:- Continue the use of metformin throughout the next pregnancy. It is considered pretty safe, particularly if you take a folic acid supplement at the same time. Make sure you have your progesterone tested as soon as you find out you are pregant. Many women with PCOS have progesterone levels too low to sustain a pregnancy. If your progesterone levels are too low you would be given a supplement and there is every likelihood that the pregnancy could proceed normally. Look after and nuture yourself and your husband. You need to feel good and positive to help your through this - anxiety (though of course it is natural) won't help. Best wishes
-- Sally
