Yes, it is possible for an 11 year old to have PCOS. Usually it shows up in the teen years, but I know of cases of younger than 11. Be certain all of the tests are done, including thyroid and ruling out any sort of pituitary problem. They might not want o put her on Metfromin (or any other medication) because of her age, but a careful carbohydrate diet, and daily exercise will at least improve how her cells use insulin, and help delay some of the major effects. AT her age I would want to rule out everything.
