My vision problems started as large brown spots. I also know what you mean about the light dimming out similar to when you pass out. I noticed it worse in low light situations though. I also would notice it more in one eye. If I looked at something from the right it would be too dark to see, but if I looked from the left then I could see it. I even lost vision completely in one eye once, but it came back by morning. I never really got a diagnosis. The neurologist mentioned a possibility of visual migranes. These are migranes without the headache. Although I get full blown migranes now. I also had boughts of tinnitus to the point I couldn't hear someone talking to me. You might want to see a neurologist and an opthalmologist just for some piece of mind. My testoserone and LH are low/normal. I asked my RE if he thought the vison problems could be PCOS related and he said that he doubted it. Good luck to you.
