I am trying to find more information on the internet to support all this because when I went for my surgery approval I was told it wasn't covered if it was for weight loss. So, now I am trying ot show that this surgery (if you're heavy) will reverse the symptoms of PCOS and allow women to get pregnant without all the clomiphene and other drugs. If anyone has or wants any info, let me know. jul =========================== Jul, You might want to make sure your insurance would cover infertility before you decide to use it as an excuse to have the surgery. It's possible you could have other factors that the insurance company would accept for having this surgery. I know when my sister-in-law had breast reduction, the insurance company considered it "cosmetic" until the doctor was able to prove a history of back problems, headaches, neck pain, as well as providing pictures of her in her bra with the straps cutting severely into her shoulders. It's possible something like this can be done for you to get approval for THIS surgery so the insurance will pick up it's portion just as it would for gallbladder removal or something. Perhaps your doctor could document your back pain, stress on your joints, heart, etc and specify MEDICAL NECESSITY for getting this weight taken off QUICKLY, as compaired to "diets". Best wishes to you. As for me, I don't have the guts to give something like that a try.....though I have heard several people would have done it much sooner if they knew it would have helped so much!
