How do I know this DX is correct?From: Eileen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 3 Jun 2002 23:30:59 -0500 (CDT)
My doctor has diagnosed me with PCOS. I have some symptoms but I think some of the key symptoms are missing to make this final diagnosis. I am excited that there might be a "name" for my health issues, however, I am not yet sold on the diagnosis. Someone help me, please! My symptoms include: infertility, being estrogen dominant, bouts of depression, cyst on left ovary, acne, fybrocystic breast disease, some insomnia, some hair loss and slightly elevated glucose levels, high blood pressure, obesity. But I do not have facial or overgrowth of hair and my infertility is due to endimetriosis (spell?)and damaged female organs... It seems pretty dramatic to put me on glucophase when I am not diabetic. Is it habit forming? What results can I look for? Any feedback will be very much appreciated. Thank you!
