Like Teri, I was also on pergonal. I used a combination of Pergonal and Metrodin. When I was on these meds, I was seeing a doctor who probably wasn't the best to be monitoring my condition because he only had office hours once a week where I could see him. I went thru 4 or 5 cycles of this combination. Most cycles I only had one follicle of good "egg" size. One cycle, I had TWO! But, the cycle that I finally conceived on was after having taken a break from treatment for about 9 months. The "egg" wasn't quite the size the doctor was hoping for, but I was cramping considerably from the meds. We went ahead and took the shot of Profasi to make me ovulate....(keep in mind, MEDICINE is NOT an exact science.....they don't know everything!) During that cycle, the tech that was doing the vaginal ultrasounds had done some research of her own and found that there is a possibility the K-Y jelly (or whatever jel lubricant they use) could act as a spermicide on some patients...so, as we got closer to the "end" of the cycle, she used only water to lubricate the vaginal probe. Well, I also ended up hyperstimulating on that cycle.....but I also was pregnant! I ended up spending three and a half weeks in the hospital on complete bed rest to avoid rupturing any of the hyperstimmed cysts, but it was worth it. My son will be NINE YEARS OLD in July! I went to a RE and used pergonal, and only had one follicle at ovulation, and now have a 15 month old daughter! I also wasn't using metformin at the time. I went to the Reprod Endo. last night for the 4 time in weeks. Anyway I took my first dose of Clomid and started Metaformin again. When I went last night he said that I have 1 large follicle in my left ovary, can someone tell me what the chances of ovulation and pregancy are with just one? I know it only takes one but I want to be realistic....
