Metformin and fatigue

Hello- I just started taking Metformin (started at 500mg per day for 1 week, am taking 1000 mg this week, start 1500 mg next week). So far I haven't noticed many of the side effects I've seen mentioned (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite). Something that has helped me with the stomach upset though is to take my pills early in the day. Every time I have taken a pill with dinner I have been extremely sick to my stomach a few hours later. I don't seem to have this problem during the day.

I have noticed however that I am really fatigued since starting the Metformin. I'm working out just like I was in the weeks before the Metformin, but now I am feeling more fatigue than usual. It seems like I cannot get enough sleep and I cannot seem to stop yawning. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what worked for you?!

Also, any suggestions on timing medications? I'm taking the Metformin plus Loestrin BC plus Zyrtec for allergies. I've been taking everything separately, but since I'll be traveling alot this summer, I'd like to try to avoid that.

Thank you for all of the great information you share on this discussion board. It has really helped me alot!

Feel free to email me personally if you prefer at jebbi99@aol.com
