I am familiar with Dr. Thatchers book. In contrast Toni Weschlers book Taking Charge of Your Fertility says long cycles do not pose a problem to egg health. On a personal note my son was conceived during a cycle in which I ovulated at about day 35! It took a little over a year of sort of trying. This is before I had PCOS diagnosed. I did develop gestational diabetes but had a normal vaginal delivery and have a beautiful, healthy 5 year old son.
