questions for Dr. SamFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 May 2002 17:02:42 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, Dr. Sam -- I have a couple of questions for you, if you'd be willing to answer them. I am five weeks pregnant, and on 2550 mg Glucophage. I've gotten conflicting information from doctors: At what point would you recommend I stop taking the Glucophage? (And if it's ten weeks, is that ten weeks from conception or ten weeks from my last period?) Also, I know that I conceived on day 22 or 23 of my cycle. In Thatcher's book (The Hidden Epidemic), it says that if your cycle is longer than 35 days, you should not even try to conceive (during that particular long cycle, I guess), as you will have a hard time getting pregnant and maintaining the pregnancy. The second part of that sentence is my concern (obviously). Would you agree that this is the case? Do you know why he suggests it? Thanks for your time.
