Re: Diagnosis of PCOSFrom: Kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 12 May 2002 20:02:39 -0500 (CDT)
Hi! I was jsut recently diagnosed with PCOS by my gynocologist. He told me there are no clear cut ways to test for this. It is mainly diagnosed by your symptoms. I do not have cysts on my ovaries, but have in the past. I had visited an endocrinologist and he missed the PCOS diagnosis. I had gone to every doctor with every referral I could get--with no luck. I had to mention it to my gynocologist after I had read an article in Woman's Day magazine and he concurred that I had all the classic symptoms of PCOS. Now, I am on Metformin and a higher dose of birth control pills. So, first try your regular physician and if there are no answers, see you gynocologist and BE PERSISTANT!!! Kelly
