It's hard to be a doctor too. There's the issue of malpractice suits, and that probably helps to make doctors cautious about dosages. If a lower dosage gives good results, it's generally better not to take higher dosages. Understandably, most doctors seem to prefer to start with a low dosage and work up if necessary rather than starting with a very high dosage and working down.

Erin could try to do her own research and bring that information to her doctor. It might just be convenient for her.
