Diagnosis of PCOSFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 4 May 2002 20:11:14 -0500 (CDT)
I have recently heard about PCOS and am wondering how it is diagnosed. I recently went to a dermatologist for several reasons and in giving her some history about myself she suggested that I might have PCOS. However since I was moving out of state she wrote me some notes on an RX pad and told me to contact a doctor once I had moved. I did see an endrocrinologist and he did an ultrasound to check my ovaries, which appeared to not have any cysts. After a recent update on a local news show I found out about the website. Anway I took the short quiz and scored an 11. My question is how is this PCOS diagnosed if you don't have cysts on your ovaries? I tried to find a PCOS physician in my area but didn't see any for Arizona. Can you tell me how it is diagnosed and perhaps even recommend a doctor in the Phoenix area. Thanks for any help you can provide. k
