I've read that the standard for insulin resistance is either a "Glucose
Tolerance Test" (takes about three hours.) My doctor has ordered a a
"fasting serum insulin level" (really had to insist upon it to get it)
which I haven't yet taken. From what I've read, if serum insulin is
high (L>20 uU/mL), or c-peptide is high (>4.6 ng/mL), insulin resistance
may be present.
I am very new to this whole PCOS thing and really know very little. This
is just what my own web research has led me to believe.
