PCOS and Metformin Side Effects

Hi Everyone!

I am 27 years old and my husband and I have been seeing an infertility specialist for the last few months. Unfortunately nothing has worked and recently my Dr. decided to perform a laparoscopy wherein she found that my ovaries were filled with cysts and that I had minimal endometriosis. She cleaned everything up and then prescribed Metformin (glucophage) to keep the cysts from returning. Since I have been taking this medication I have not been able to keep any food down. The other night we went to visit some friends I had one drink and felt horrible. When I left and was walking down their driveway I vomitted then and there. I have also been feeling extremely dizzy and disoriented coupled with an unusual amount of tiredness. My Dr. never told me about the side effects and in some other messages posted at the forms I have found that taking Glucophage can cause Lactic Acidosis. Does anyone know exactly what this is and do you think I may just be overreacting or should I talk to my Dr. about it? Thanks for all your help!
