I have had cysts on my ovaries and had one miscarriage in 97 and two in 99. I have a uterine cyst that has grown from a marble to a golf ball size. since 99. I also read the womans day article. My doctor had said either hysterectomy and I said not yet or Lupron to shrink the cyst. Well I researched all the side affects and did not want that either. When I tried to speak with her about it she did not want to give me Metfromin. Finally I went to my medical doctor and he read the article (I had highlighted all the main points in the article) and he said I certainly fit the bill and told me I should talk to my gynecologist. But I told him that she was not interested. Then he looked on the back of my neck and found these brown velvet patched of skin and also under my arms and said that this was also a definite sign that Womans day did not mention. I gave me the drug Which I have took for two days. I have had no side affects yet. I already had diarrhea which I have had since they removed my gallbladder in 92. That is when I gained my 50 pounds. I am in hopes that this will help me lose some of that weight and helps decrease the chance of diabetes and heart disease which both of my grandmothers had. As for having a baby if I do not get pregnant before I turn 35 I am going to have the hysterectomy. I have a lot of heavy bleeding and major cramps and a general pain in my abdomen all the time because of the Uterine cyst. I thank God I have my ten year old son. If you would like to ask me how the medication is doing or tell me if you have any luck my e-mail is kentuckykinfolks@aol.com I am also in to genealogy. I hope that you do find a doctor who will help you. I know how you feel when you have one that will not listen. It is very discouraging. But try a medical doctor and see if you have better luck. Because this can not only help your fertility, but also help guard against diabetes and heart disease which are very big risks if you happen to be overweight like I am. I have felt like a failure because I cant have a sucessful pregnancy and because of the way I look now and feel aabout myself. I also deal with panic attacks and anxiety since I was 19 years old. Just don't give up. You deserve to feel good and be healthy. People have made me feel like a gluton with no self control because they do not understand. But I know not that it is not my fault. It is a medical problem just like other diseases. I wish you luck.
