Hi,

I believe that some people have posted before that Metformin can cause potassium imbalance (you might want to post this as keywords on this site). Some of them suggested taking a potassium containing supplement or eating more potassium containing foods. When taking met you should increase your water intake(cause met is excreted by the kidneys).

I get muscle cramps since I started met, but they have settled down considerably since I first started. My muscles still seem to be extra excitable - such that if I jump up suddenly (like at a cockroach - I absolutely hate them) I will end up with cramps in the responding muscles - and I can easily stimulate muscle cramps in my legs just by contracting my toes hard for a couple of seconds..... Dr. tested for electrolyte imbalance but said all appears to be normal....

Maybe the above is worth a try.
