MB, Hi, I am currently breastfeeding AND taking Metformin. While I know a couple of years ago my doctor did not recommend it he has since changed his mind. My son is 9 months old, he is nursing about 4 times a day plus eats homemade babyfood. I have been doing this for about 2 months & have seen no side effects so far. Nicole (although you have me wondering, he has been sick all week, throwing-up, loose stools, running a low grade temp. & not eating I wonder if the drug has anything to do with it. I am going to take him to the doctor in the AM , I will mention it to him. You would think if it was going to affect him it would have happened by now, though)
