To Dr. Sam: prolactin levels

Hi Dr. Sam! I am in my native Brazil. I decided to come home to hear what the doctor that used to have me on Androcur had to say (the one that finally diagnosed the PCOS). Like you, he said that I should not take Aldactone while TTC. He was surprised that we have been on clomid 7 months, had HSG, semen analysis, post-coital, HCG shots and lots of blood work, but never tested PROLACTIN levels. Could this be something? Should a prolactin test have been done already? He said that in Brazil this is a standard test done in the begginning of the fertility work-up. Is this different in the US? Thanks for your insight. You really clear things up for us. Fernanda
