Flutamide and Spiro vs. Glucophage XR

Hi,

I am trying to make an informed decision on what medications I should take, so I wanted to get an opinion on the subject. I was given Flutamide and Spironolactone about 6 months ago and it has really helped with the excessive hair growth, but has not helped with the weight issue, despite my regular exercising. For that reason, I am now being given Glucophage XR. I am supposed to start with a lower dose, and continue the the Flutamide and Spironolactone until I get halfway there, and then discontinue them and only take the Glucophage.

I guess my question is which of the two treatments (either Flutamide and Spiro. or Glucophage XR) is the better treatment plan for PCOS? I have thought about it and it seems vain that I would opt for the Glucophage just to lose weight when the other two medications were giving me good results so far--other than weight loss. However, I have yet to have a period in the six months, so would it be possible that the Glocophage would be worth a try to see if it might bring one on eventually, by regluating my body?

I have a wonderful doctor that is giving me a lot of control in the decision making, so I am trying to gather information so I can make an informed decision on what would be best in the long run. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you, Mychel
