I believe it can be prescribed by itself in some cases, and is also a component of Diane-35, a BCP, that is sold where I live as an antiandrogen. After six months of taking Diane-35, I have notice reduction in, lighter colour, and slower growth of the hair. It took several months to start getting the effect. Of course, one cannot use an antiandrogen, if one is TCC as it will be very detrimental to any male foetus and stop his normal development. Sally
