You've already received some good suggestions from other contributors, so I won't reiterate the sensible advice they've given you. Instead, I'll offer you just one more suggestions, and it's the only one I can think of that hasn't already been mentioned.

Assuming your doctor put you on the 1500 mg dosage to start as your message implies, perhaps lowering your dosage would help reduce side effects. It's possible you will respond well at a lower dosage and have fewer or less severe side effects.

I agree that the side effects you are experiencing with Glucophage are debilitating. You can't live your life that way. I think you should try each of the suggestions made here in turn and see if they allow you to feel better.

I would start by considering whether your diet has a role in this. If you do eat foods high in fat or sugar, try cutting them out while taking Glucophage. If you experience the side effects, try the Alka-Seltzer. If this isn't enough, you should ask your doctor about Glucophage XR. If you're still having trouble, maybe a lower dosage of XR is the key.

The important thing is not to give up either by ceasing Glucophage or by accepting this enervation. It's important that you take a drug, such as Glucophage, that can treat your syndrome and that you have a life you enjoy living. There are still a number of possible solutions that will allow you both necessities.
