Hi,

Congratulations!!! Depends on the doctor. Metformin in the first three months with the few studies we have, appears to not have a problem. There were a few studies that have shown a problem. I have a list of the studies on http://nicho_v.tripod.com/metpreg.html. Everything is pretty much new, and it is up to the patient and doctor involved to make a decision based on what little is out there. Btw, progesterone supplements could also be something to check out.

I will caution you that people will try to use your fear to push you into a decision. I've seen it before, and it will doubtless happen again. Talk with your doctor, get second opinions from the medical people on both sides of the coin, not just one, and make a decision based on what you can live with, not what anyone else does.

Hi there I was hoping yall could help me. I just found out that I am pregnant and I need some advise. I'm 26 and was diagnosed with PCOS at 17. For the last two years or so I have been taking Glucophage, and birth control to control the symptoms. Apparently the birth control was not effective this month. Any way my regular Dr has sent me to my gyno and I have an appt. with him tommorow. I need to know what I should mention to my Dr to have him check like hormone levels and such. I know I have heard that our progesterone is low and that can cause misscarriage so what do I need to mention about that. Also I'm pretty sure he will want me off glucophage but I'm scared that will make me lose the baby. I'm not sure what to do. I'm pretty overwhelmed and not thinking really straight so I cant remember all this stuff!
