Hi Sandra,

As the person most probably responsible for the introduction to this forum the idea, that BCPs are bad for PCOSers, I try to clarify this again. BCPs are CONTRADICTED for diabetics, b/c BCPs are deteriorating glucose tolerance (most probably though insulin cereptors) in healthy subjects. As PCOS is characterized by insulin resistance and IR later develops into type 2 diabetes, it is unwise to deteriorate sombeody's already deteriorated IR. It is as simple as that. Why other doctors do not follow this very very simple logic? Don't ask me... I usually add that the antiandrogen (side) effects of Diane and Yasmin render them PARTIALLY exempt from this.
