I had polyps in my 20s and had a D&C. It is a fairly simple procedure that involves the scraping of the lining of the uterus. The lining itself is not removed, that is a different procedure. The nurse was speaking of the possible problems that might result if something goes wrong. As with any surgery, there is always a possibility that something will go wrong but that should not be a concern for you as it happens so rarely. You need to feel totally comfortable before you let any doctor do anything to your body. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to and don't let them bully you by acting put out and irritated. Just remember, they are your employees, you are the boss, you are paying them to provide a service to you. Some doctors get an attitude that they know everything and we should just be happy they take the time to deal with us. NOT! Any doctor you don't feel comfortable with is not worth keeping. Also, may I suggest you check out Dr. John Lee's website http://www.johnleemd.com and take the hormone balance test he has posted there. If you need a D&C for any reason other than a miscarriage, that indicates to me you might have a hormone imbalance. Take care! BJ
