That is odd that they would say that...

I had a D&C with my last miscarriage. I was 8 weeks along. I did not have any uterus polyps though.

The procedure was smooth. I went in to the hospital, they put me to sleep, when I woke up I had a little bleeding (very little) and then went home. I had no pain afterward on the day of the surgery (in fact I even went out and exercised). A few days later I had a bit of cramping (similar to a light period) and then 4 weeks later I had a regular cycle again.

Best of luck to you - I know it is an emotional experience.
