Hello Dr. Sam, may I ask if you think I should be put on both meds right away and see what that does for me? And if they both do work for me, will it start my period right away, or will I have a chance to get pregnant before I even start a period (keeping in mind I haven't had one since November of last year)? I don't really know what to expect. And if I do get pregnant, do I stop taking the meds? Or continue while I am pregnant? I know that this is a syndrome and it's a life long uncurable one, but it's maintained by the meds. Can I also please ask where you are located? I am in Marysville, WA and am looking for a possible different doctor who knows a little more about PCOS than my doctor now. Thank you for taking the time to write down your ideas and knowledge, I greatly appreciate it!! Please write back if you have time. Thank you!!

>2: It is no reason to race with metformin. To see if it works at 500 mg, you have to wait one/several months. If it does not, than you increase to 1000 mg and wait another month or so. After 6 mo, you add clomid and wait again. You have to consider, there is only a <10% chance of getting pregnant each month.
