Mhairi,
I have been on Metformin for only a few months now, but I was
curious..... did your Doctor do the correct bloodwork on you before you
started Metformin?
I am currently a student, and I plan on going to Med School next year to
become an OBGYN, simply because I have never felt that I have recieved
the treatment I needed or deserved. I truly am sick to death of
Doctor's who believe what they want, and refuse to read up on new
information. I initialy "self-diagnosed" myself 7 years ago for PCOS,
but have only recently been clinically diagnosed.
I will tell you in the last 4 months I have been taking Metformin I have
lost 25 pounds without changing my diet at all, my stray hairs have
disipated a bit, and I started having regular periods 2 months ago.
My advise is continue taking Metformin, and let your body be your guide.
No two women will have the exact same results, and you need to decide
what is best for you.
