Re: Spironalactone

First off, no insurance won't cover it. *pout* Wish they would. The price is about $55 a month. But I can usually make it stretch to a month and a half. I had a very bad case of hair myself. I have very fair skin, and very dark, coarse hair. The worst part was my neck area. The sideburns were also particularly bad. The spirolactone helped soften it up a bit, but it was still really bad. The Vaniqa has made a big difference. Especially on the sideburns. I used to pluck them every day, but now I only have to pluck a stray hair every blue moon. The neck is better, but still has some problems. Used to be I'd pluck every day on my neck, and try to cover up with makeup. Usually no good. I could still see the black marks. But after Vaniqa, I can now shave it in the shower, usually daily, and it's hardly noticeable. My doctor even noticed a difference when I came in. It's so much better than I will dare to go without makeup because you can't really tell I have a problem. It's not a cure-all and I can almost guarentee you will still have to do something to get rid of the hair, but trust me it is worth it. It will reduce your problems to at least a manageable state.

Hope that helps.
