What contraceptive did the doctor prescribe?

I am no doctor, but it seems to be that a general rule of thumb is that the best dosage for a patient is the minimum necessary to provide the alleviation of symptoms and preventative benefits sought and expected. I think in most cases that different people respond differently to a particular drug, so you can't just conduct a poll to find out your best dosage.

Glucophage is a difficult drug to adjust to from what I have read and heard and seen. It sounds like you're still having trouble with it, and that's a good reason for me to think -- ill-educated as I am to discuss drug dosages -- that you might not be ready for a higher dosage.

If he's a good doctor, he'll adjust the dosage if the current one isn't doing the trick. He'll probably want to wait at least until he's sure you can tolerate a higher dosage.
