Each one is different, but I've found it best to take it after a few bites of a decent sized meal. I have GI problems also.

I left my doctor's office this morning with a new percription for Metformin-XR 500mg. I am looking for advice on the best time to take the dosage? I have a history of GI problems and know that I am fairly sensitive. Is there a goodtime/bad time to take the pills?

Thanks...Allison
