I maybe somewhat backward, but the problem is not the lack of pregnenolone but the block between DHEA and the later products (progesterone, estradiol). Thgerefore the elveated DHEA(S) levels and also testosterone (t) is elevated because DHEA is shunted towards t instead of E,P. I would like to have a more detrailed explanation for this from your dr (if there is any). This balancing hormone levels is just a blah blah. The entire female endocrine system is about shifting between different hormones during the cycle. The most relevant is the shift between estradiol and progesterone, the former being dominant during the first half, the other during the second half of the cycle. There is nothing such as balancing exact on the tight rope... For your info
