I have been taking met for 6 weeks now (2000 mg per day) and have had a majority of the symptoms too, metal taste in my mouth, GI complaints and moody. According to my tests my liver is fine too and my doctor keeps telling me that the symptoms will go away with time. I don't think he'd say that if he was going through this.I've lost 12 pounds over the past weeks but I am having tiredness issues during the day and started checking my sugar levels daily and the highest my sugar has gotten is 90 which is just barely in the normal range and that was an hour or so after eating 2 cookies. My endo's response was that blood sugar checking machines are not reliable and a bunch of other back talk so needless to say I'm changing doctors and I've found one in my area thanks to the PCOSA site. Sorry I've strayed from the subject. I've found that eating something high in protien then taking my met seems to help some but I am still keeping the folks at Immodium in business. If anyone know of anyting that helps with the side effects let me know PLEASE!
