Taking glucophage but remaining insulin resistant...HELP!

I have been on glucophage for one year due to PCOS. Recent fasting levels are 120. My doctor says I am insulin resistant and may not get pregnant. He is suggesting insulin shots. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? He also stated that during pregnancy I will most likely have to have insulin shots. I would really like an alternative. Any suggestions?
