Re: voice lost after pregnancyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.net ("anonymous@obgyn.net")Mon, 25 Feb 2002 09:26:54 -0500
Hmmm....that's a new one. How long ago did you have your baby? I suppose it could happen. Hormone changes affect so many, many things in our bodies, and doctors still haven't found everything that they affect. When I was pregnant with my daughter, toward the last two months I broke out in a very itchy rash on my arms and legs. It was so intense that I'd stay up scratching until I fell asleep from sheer exhaustion. This stayed with me until about 4 to 6 weeks after she was born. The doctors explained it was basically an allergic reaction to the hormone difference of pregnancy. That's a much simplified explanation, and they said it's somewhat unusual but not that totally uncommon....although neither my doctor nor his partner had ever seen it before me. (LUcky me....such a novelty...hehehe). As my hormones returned to "normal" after the birth of my daughter, the itching stopped. I didn't, however, have this happen when I was pregnant with my son 8 1/2 years later. Perhaps with some practice you'll regain your vocal range. I don't know a lot about singing, but I know that I have a wider range when I'm more relaxed and well rested...so if you've got a little one keeping you up, it might affect your voice range. Just some thoughts....sorry I'm not much more help. Hugs, Shelley I used to be able to sing within a wide range but when i became pregnate and after i had my baby my singing range was lessened. have you heard of such a thing happening. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://mail2web.com/ . -- --------------------------------------------------------------------
