Thanks SuzieQ,
I appreciate the info, both my family and myself had this false concept
that you get rid of everything and your problems are solved. However, I
have always been very very apprehensive about it. My biggest fear is
that the choice will be made for me since I only have one ovary left and
they can't seem to keep the cysts from forming. The last laporoscopy in
Jan was to remove a cyst that had become larger than the uterus. Do I
keep going in and just have the cyst removed? Won't it just eventually
be scarred to bad that the function of the ovary will just stop? These
are the questions running through my mind. It is amazing how so many
women can be affected by this and doctors seem to have so few answers or
alternatives. Thanks again for your input, it's much appreciated.

I too am taking Yasmin and have been for aproximately six months. I was diagnosed with PCOS by Laporoscopy 12 years ago and have struggled. In April of 2001 I lost my right ovary due to the formation of three very large cysts that had surrounded my ovary making it unsavable. About three to four months after that I was put on Yasmin by my doctor. I would have to say that I have noticed more cramping with this bcp than others and I have had irregular cycles from time to time. I am not convinced that it is the best control for PCOS (at least not in my case). In October of 2001 I suffered from another large cyst on my left ovary after a month it went away, then in Jan 2002 I was back in to the surgery room to remove another cyst that had formed. My doctor has send all I have left is luck and the next time a cyst of this size forms again I will be looking at a hysterectomy. I'm only 32 and have very mixed emotions about having a hysterectomy. Don't really no where to take it from here. But if I were any of you that are taking Yasmin talk to your doctor about alternatives.
